IT Intern (Remote, Malaysia) – Flutter & Web
As our IT Intern, you'll fix bugs, test and build features across the user app, the merchant/venue app, our website and our internal admin portal.
Location: Fully remote (Malaysia) · Type: Full-time internship, about 40 hours a week · Posted: 23 Oct 2026
Aevum is a Malaysian startup building a places and culture discovery platform. You'll work across our tech: the Flutter user and merchant/venue apps, the website, the web admin portal and the REST API behind them. We're a small team that works in English. Your work will reach real users from launch. You'll be mentored by our CTO, Steven, and work alongside our full-stack engineer.
What you will do
- Fix bugs and help build features in our Flutter (Dart) user and merchant/venue apps
- Work on our Astro and Tailwind CSS website, with content managed in Decap CMS
- Improve the web admin portal the team uses to manage places and listings
- Connect app screens to our REST API backend and look into data issues
- Test and QA: reproduce issues and check fixes on Android and iOS devices
- Track bugs and tasks in ClickUp
- Help prepare app releases for Google Play and the App Store
Who you are
- A diploma or degree student, or fresh graduate, in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a related field
- Based in Malaysia and able to work remotely about 40 hours a week during the internship
- Some hands-on coding experience from coursework, side projects or hackathons (Flutter/Dart, JavaScript/TypeScript or similar)
- Basic Git and GitHub skills (branches, commits, pull requests)
- An understanding of how apps talk to a REST API (JSON, HTTP requests)
- Attention to detail when testing
- Clear written and spoken English, and the confidence to ask questions and share progress remotely
- Keen to learn, and comfortable changing direction quickly, as startups often do
Useful extras: a Flutter app you've built, even a small one; Astro, Tailwind CSS or another modern web framework; basic SQL or databases; publishing to Google Play or the App Store; using AI coding tools responsibly and checking their output; Bahasa Melayu, Chinese or another language, since our apps and website are multilingual; interest in local culture, food or travel.
