Apply by email

One vacancy in each of Ipoh, Penang, Melaka, Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur. You look after relationships with venues in your city. The start date is flexible.

Aevum is a startup where cultural work and travel technology meet. The app is free to download, with in-app purchases or subscriptions. Your job is conversations, not a script about prices. There are no prices to sell.

Who we are looking for

  • No grade-point cutoff. Education history is not the test.
  • Comfortable talking to strangers, in person and on the phone.
  • Fluent in Malay, English and Mandarin. The team writes in English. Older venues in Ipoh often prefer Cantonese to Mandarin. A local dialect can be the difference.
  • Able to drive, with your own transport.
  • Organised. The record of a call is updated the same day.
  • Able to tell which venues fit, and to read about them before you visit. We will give you the criteria.

How the week works

Full-time, about 40 hours, mostly Monday to Friday. Pick four fixed hours between late morning and late afternoon, when a venue can actually talk, plus four flexible hours you choose. There is no fixed desk. The first week is in Ipoh with the founder. After that you work between home and the field. There is a weekly team check-in.

What we offer

Real work with the founding team, flexible hours, and support for approved travel. The length is three to six months and can flex. A longer role in your city is possible if the company can support it. We do not publish a salary figure.

How to apply

Email hr@aevum.my with your name, a short introduction (150 words), why you fit, your dates, the languages you speak and write, the allowance you would need, and three short stories: a time you convinced someone, a time you were afraid and did it anyway, and a time someone said no.
